MES Free Acid, Monohydrate

Details:

Product Description

2-(N-Morpholino) ethanesulfonic acid (MES) is a buffer commonly used in biology and biochemistry and has some important features common to this class of buffers. Including: 1) low UV absorbance (λ≥260 nm); 2) strong water solubility; 3) pKa is in the neutral range, and is not easily affected by temperature; 4) stable pH value; 5) little interference reaction;
MES does not penetrate the cell membrane and has a low effect of introducing salt ions. And it can be used as a non-coordinating buffer in chemical reactions involving some metal ions. Because it is only weakly bound to calcium, magnesium, and manganese, it hardly reacts with copper ions. Other commonly used buffers such as phosphate and acetate can easily form ligand complexes with these metals. MES buffer can also be used as a running buffer for denaturing gels. This product is ultra-pure, free of DNase, RNase and protease.
